The Admissions Service in Warwick deals with all admissions to the school as students transfer to us from primary school. Full details of our criteria, an indication of number of applications for admission and contact details for the Admission Service are given in the Additional Information.

We do, however, positively welcome applications from other Local Authorities. We hold an Open Morning and an Open Evening in September to which we invite parents and pupils of those attending school in Year 6. Details are available from the school and our posted on the website.

Once places have been offered and accepted, we organise day visits for pupils and an evening for parents in the summer term. We are happy to meet with prospective parents at other times of the year when queries can be answered and any concerns discussed. Please contact the school to make an appointment.

Arriving at a new school is a milestone in anyone's life. New pupils feel secure quite quickly. All pupils are placed in a mixed ability, mixed year 'vertical' tutor group of around 20-22 students. All tutor groups are part of our House system. Each group has its own tutor who gets to know and understand the individuals. Tutors see their group daily at registration and for tutorial sessions each week, which includes one-to-one learning conversations and, as students’ progress through school, advice and guidance for Options, Sixth-Form choices, University applications and careers. The Heads of House manage and lead teams of tutors.

We work closely with our partner schools to ensure a smooth transition from primary to secondary schools.  This is made possible by:

Teaching and pastoral staff visiting partner schools
Effective liaison with regard to students' welfare and pastoral matters
Close liaison between senior staff

In Year Admissions

The decision to move a student's school once they have started their secondary school is never one taken lightly by parents.  Moving house or catchment areas or other more personal reasons can trigger an enquiry for a school place.  The school has a planned admission number for each year group that it cannot exceed without referring a parent to the admissions appeals system.  However, places do become available within year groups and parents are welcome to contact the school to see if a space exists.  For any enquiries relating to a place at the school in any year group please contact:
