Admissions

The Admissions Service in Warwick deals with all admissions to the school transfer from primary school. Full details of our criteria, an indication of number of applications for admission and contact details for the Admission Service are given in the Additional Information. We do, however, positively welcome applications from other Local Authorities.

We hold an Open Morning and an Open Evening in September to which we invite parents and pupils of those attending school in Year 6. Details are available from the school.

Once places have been offered and accepted, we organise day visits for pupils and an evening for parents in the summer term. We are happy to meet with prospective parents at other times of the year when queries can be answered and any concerns discussed. Please contact the school to make an appointment.

For admissions to the school at any time other than the September Year 7 entry, it is still necessary to contact the Admissions Service in Warwick on: 01926 410410.

Admissions at any other time are dependent on places available. Please contact the school directly.

School Organisation

Arriving at a new school is a milestone in anyone's life. New pupils feel secure quite quickly. All pupils are placed in a mixed ability tutor group of approximately 30 individuals. Each group has its own tutor who gets to know and understand the individuals. Tutors see their group daily at registration and for tutorial sessions each week.

The Pastoral Leaders manage and lead teams of tutors. They specialise in a Year or Key Stage to help with the care, guidance and welfare of the pupils and students.

Induction

We work closely with our partner school's to ensure a smooth transition from primary to secondary schools. This is made possible by:

• Teaching and pastoral staff visiting partner schools

• Effective liaison with regard to pupils' welfare and pastoral matters

• Close liaison between senior staff

• Opportunities to visit us at Open Morning or Open Evening, New Intake Days and a Parents' Induction Evening.
